(PITTSBURGH, PA) - The 2004 PACE Race Series kicked off Sunday in Pittsburgh, PA as more than 800 participants ran and walked in the Father's Day 5/10K.
With great running weather and a scenic view along the North Shore that included PNC Park, Home of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Heinz Field, Home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, runners of all experience levels participated to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer.
"We're very pleased with all aspects of this year's race," said Jerry Livingston, Father's Day 5/10K race director. "The great turnout showed just how important it is to raise awareness about prostate cancer - getting checked early can save your life."

"The kickoff to the 2004 PACE Race Series was a great success," said Mandy Deas, PACE Race Series Coordinator. "We look forward to the remainder of the series being as successful as the Father's Day 5/10K."
The PACE Race series kicked off June 20 in Pittsburgh, PA and ends November 20 in Tampa, FL and Atlanta, GA. The PACE Race Series is presented by Aventis and supported by the Prostate Cancer Education Council, PowerBar, Propel, Madhava, and Kettle Chips.
